Whether challenging gender roles in her high school Shakespeare class or getting her degree in African-American studies from Harvard, Kaitlin has always wanted to push right past what was expected and go deeper.

KAITLIN MCGAW

Kaitlin McGaw (she/her) is a 2x GRAMMY-nominated artist, fiercely loving mama of two, and generous collaborator rooted in community, creating and building from the unceded lands of the Chochenyo/Ohlone people (Oakland, CA). From performances at The Kennedy Center to national school tours for 50,000 young changemakers a year, Kaitlin is a preeminent anti-racist leader in children’s music as the co-founder of Alphabet Rockers. She and her co-founder and collaborator Tommy Shepherd push the field past songs about tying shoes and into topics like gender inclusion, anti-racism and solidarity. Specializing in creating brave spaces for parents, educators and children to interrupt bias and shape a more equitable world, their media and music is the sound of the world we need to live in. Witness the culture of change in “We Got Work to Do” – an online anti-racism curriculum, or listen to their albums “The Love” and “Rise Shine #Woke.” When you hear the music, dive into the work, and connect with the messages, you are connecting with beloved community. Lift up Black voices, Queer liberation, and honor Indigenous lands and people. Our future is now.
At a time when the world is fragmented, where concerts have been on pause, and when we are all isolated, Kaitlin invites you to reach out. Collaborate. Ask for help. Activation, connection and leading with love are core to her being. And she is ready to build the world with you.
This is the kind of boundary-pushing and culture change Kaitlin was made for.

Knows the power of community and platforms. Fosters media development through listening, passing the mic to the folx who need to be heard, and making space for real amplification of their truth. In this intersection she works as an activist, artist, and builder.

Music reflects the sound our children need TODAY. Featured on Spotify Playlists, Scholastic Pre-K programs, KidsPlace Live, WeeNation Radio, and in social justice playlists, classrooms and homes around the country.
